This magazine layout depicts my relationship with being an Indian Muslim. I really wanted to base this project on something personal to me - especially because I had so much to say on the topic. I discuss the good, bad, and ugly when it comes to India, and more so my experience as an Indian Muslim; two words that hold hands whilst describing me, but remain a paradox to others.
I had seen this project coming together the way it did in the early stages of planning it. The color theme was the same as the Indian flag. I kept the main background color black with white text because I wanted there to be a serious and solemn look to the text. To show the bright and beautiful culture, I decided to design a tear in the page - a contradictory, transitional element - that led to a series of images.
